(That's me!)

Our fascination with astronomy began in 2019, sparked by the acquisition of our first Dobsonian telescope from my former high school teacher. Gazing at the magnificent rings of Saturn or the rugged terrain of the Moon, we were completely enthralled. After spending a couple of years immersed in visual astronomy, a curious thought struck us:

"Wouldn't it be cool to photograph these objects?"

2021 marked the beginning of this new chapter. We rigged our DSLR to the Dobsonian and dove headfirst into astrophotography, quickly encountering its myriad challenges. Far from being deterred, these challenges only fueled our eagerness to learn. Our initial attempts, though humble, were stepping stones. As father and son, we embarked on a learning journey, absorbing knowledge from every source available – from seasoned astrophotographers to our own trial-and-error experiences in the backyard. Each new piece of information, each shared tip from the community, brought us closer to mastering this art, turning the challenges into milestones of our growing expertise.

This is my beloved VW Vanagon Westfalia campervan. Formerly owned by my father, he passed it down to me and I have continued to maintain and slowly modify it over the years. It now serves as our mobile observatory when we go on trips to Manning Park, BC or other dark sky areas.
